The current rules for Arbitration & Extensions is repeated below. I assume that the Arbitration and Extension raises use the same scale. Correct? Also, if I'm reading this correctly the following scenario could occur. A top prospect comes up and plays and is never sent down again. A team could control him for 6 years (through Arbitration)...then control him with extensions for another 5 years. Correct?
On top of that a Franchise tag would allow control for a 12th year. If a franchise tag is used...can that player be slapped with a franchise tag again? Or is the team limited at that point to a Restricted tag?
Conceivably, a team could control a player for their whole career (although exceptionally rare in this scenario). Right?

A player is Arb. eligible if he has more then 3 yrs but less then 6 yrs of MLB service according to the Cot's calculations.
That means the current season doesn't count.
If a player is on a 1 year contract but has less then 3 years of mlb service(as it is with most young players),they will get an automatic 1 year extension under the same salary condition.The Auto-Resign Rule.
This will continue until a player is eligible for arbitration. All extensions must be approved by 1 commissioner before becoming official. That includes any extensions made by commissioners, they also must be approved by another commissioner.

1-5- 10 M raise
6-15- 9 M raise
16-25- 8 M raise
26-50- 6 M raise
51-100 - 4 M raise
101- 200 - 1.5 M raise
201- 300 - 0.5 M raise
301 and on - 0.1 raise
Maximum years of extensions is 5 years. After this extension they become free agents.This will allow good players to get on the market for other owners.It creates diversity in the league. Each owner has 2 Franchise Tag,and 2 Restricted Tag each season. The Franchise Tag is a 1 year extension"
